Local's Guide
The best things to do in Berry, NSW.
A foodie's weekend guide to Berry — the South Coast's most charming village. Whether you're driving up from Sydney for a Saturday escape or settling in for a long weekend, here's how the locals do Berry: heritage streets, boutique shopping, scenic walks, cool-climate wineries, and the perfect way to end the day around a pizza.

Why visit Berry?
Two hours south of Sydney and minutes from the beaches of Gerringong and Seven Mile, Berry is the kind of town where heritage shopfronts meet contemporary food, art and wine. The town centre is walkable, the surrounding hinterland is green year-round, and there's enough to fill a long weekend without ever feeling rushed.
1. Wander Queen Street
Queen Street is Berry's main spine. Spend a morning ducking into independent boutiques, homewares stores, the famous Berry Sourdough Bakery, antiques shops and artisan studios. Stop for coffee at any of the corner cafés and watch the village wake up.
2. Berry Country Fair & weekly markets
The Berry Country Fair takes over Berry Showground on the first Sunday of each month — local makers, produce, plants and live music. For a smaller fix, the weekly Berry Farmers Market is the spot for South Coast cheese, oysters and seasonal fruit.
3. Cool-climate wine in the hinterland
Drive ten minutes out of town to Cambewarra Estate, Coolangatta Estate or Two Figs Winery for tastings overlooking the escarpment. Most cellar doors have weekend platters; book ahead in peak season.
4. Walks, waterfalls and beaches
For a short walk, the Berry to Bomaderry Rail Trail loops through farmland and rainforest. Push further and you'll find the Carrington Falls lookout, the Drawing Room Rocks summit, or the long arc of Seven Mile Beach a fifteen-minute drive east.
5. Galleries and gardens
Local galleries rotate exhibitions from South Coast artists year-round, and a handful of nearby gardens — including private estates that open seasonally — are worth the short drive for design lovers and plant people alike.
Where to eat: end the day at Quattro
After a day on Queen Street or out at the wineries, locals head to Quattro Kusina & Pizzeria on Prince Alfred Street. We're Berry's home for artisan wood-fired pizza, share plates and fusion comfort food — the kind of warm, family-friendly dining room that's become a weekend ritual for visitors and a regular table for locals.
We're fully licensed with a tight South Coast–leaning wine list, kid-friendly, and we take bookings for groups. If you're staying nearby, we also deliver within 5km of the town centre.
